About This Dog for Adoption
Rex's ideal home
Rex can live with children of high school age and other dogs, though he is likely to need a quite a few meets with them before going home with one. He has previously been house trained but may need a refresher after his spell in kennels. Rex is not used to being left by himself and will need someone at home most of the day, and to have plenty to keep his young mind busy.
Could you be Rex's perfect match?
Rex has been a big hit with the staff since his arrival, making us all laugh with his zoomies! When in his kennel he is very nervous but once we've coaxed him out he comes alive and behaves more like the big puppy he is. Rex is only ten months old and a very active boy who wants to be into everything and has a fondness for chasing leaves. He can be nervous of new situations and when one of his handlers enters his kennel, he will peer through his hatch for a while, sussing out the situation and deciding whether or not he's going to make an appearance! His new family will need to allow him time to make decisions about his environment and not expect too much of him too soon. He lacks confidence is some situations and then is brimming with it others, such as meeting other dogs. Rex can be very boisterous and if he's to live with another dog it will need to be a good match in temperament. He's a little worried by busy roads so he'll need to be walked in quiet areas, although he does travel well in the car. He would benefit from some further training, particularly keeping his feet on the floor when saying hello to people.
