Meet Duke, a lovable and energetic 1-year-old seeking a forever home. Duke was surrendered to us because his previous owner could no longer care for him. Having lived with two other dogs, Duke would thrive as the only pet in the household. While he's had canine companions, he's still learning how to interact with new dogs, and any introductions should be gradual and with a calm dog. Duke is a friendly and bouncy boy who would fit well in a home with primary school-aged children and older. He's known for his joyful greetings and wiggly demeanor when meeting new people.

He does not enjoy being left alone, so he'll need a patient owner who can gradually increase his solo time to 1-2 hours. His previous home mentioned he vocalised when left for extended periods, so a gradual transition is key. While a garden is not essential, Duke would benefit from regular outdoor access for exercise. Duke knows basic commands like “sit” and “paw,” and with a harness, he walks well on a lead, although he can be strong at times. He can be reactive around livestock and is cautious with other dogs, so he should remain on a lead in public spaces. Despite these quirks, he travels well and is ready to embark on new adventures with the right family.
